Star Valley Soccer Club is excited to announce our upcoming tryouts for our 2024/2025 season of competitive soccer. Here are a few reasons why we’re holding tryouts and what you need to know:

Why Tryouts?

SVSC’s goal is for every child to enjoy the game of soccer, whether they are playing recreationally or at a competitive level. Our competitive club aims to play at a higher level, with increased practice times and competition in games. This does increase the time commitment required by kids and families. Tryouts help us ensure that the kids enrolled are ready for this commitment.

Team Placement and Development Opportunities

Tryouts also allow us to place each child on the team that best suits their skill level. For younger players who may not be quite ready for an increased level, we may encourage participation in our awesome town recreational programs for another year. SVSC then provides additional academy trainings, designed to develop skills and prepare kids for future competitive play. For others who are more advanced, we may suggest placing them on a higher skilled team to keep them engaged and learning. It is our goal to help each child find the right environment in which they can grow and learn the amazing game of soccer.

Planning for the Upcoming Season

This time also helps our coaches and club plan for the upcoming season. It allows us to choose leagues and tournaments that best suit the level of each individual team and their players.

What to Expect

Kids should come prepared to have fun with kids their age, meet some awesome coaches, and show off their soccer skills. This is a great opportunity for parents to ask questions about the program and better understand the club’s goals and objectives. We also value your feedback and want to hear what you are looking for in the program.

Can’t Make Tryouts?

If you can’t make it to the tryouts but still want to play, don’t worry! Just reach out to us, and we will arrange an alternative to ensure your child has the opportunity to join our club or receive further recommendations.
